More than I thought.
{The similarities are more comforting than the differences, though the latter makes him curious.}
You're not lying, right? We won't get drunk for over a week. That actually sounds horrible.

[Quite a bit of frustration just now, yes.]
Hm. You don't?
[Starting fresh without the history... That statement sure hits in a way she probably didn't mean it to.]
He from later on than you?

"Oh, hn. I don't have a an assignment yet. So no work besides checking in with Zero later in the day. I'd be happy to spend time with you in the greenhouse."
"That's good to hear." Hopefully that meant there weren't too many incidents. Though he did wonder after all that had gone on his his arrival.
"I'd like to help you if I can." Not that he wouldn't mind a nap under a tree. But right now he wanted to be useful, needed. Surely there was something he could do in the greenhouse that would be useful.

Hmn.
[He frowns a little at that.]
I've met Vincent a few times. Had him figured for someone who had a bit more class than that.

Nanaki let himself into Aerith's cabin and set to arranging a few things in the kitchen. He started with the flower bouquet he had picked from the garden when Aerith hadn't been around (harder to do than it sounded!). He made sure the flowers looked nice in the vase he procured for them before moving on. He then pulled a plastic container from his pack and set it on the counter next to the flowers. He gave up trying to pry the lid off and left it for Aerith to handle. Inside were paw-baked cookies. They looked...edible. Maybe.
He sat down to wait but eventually that turned into a long sprawl. Which in turn became a curled up lay and finally completed its metamorphosis into a catnap.

'Under pressure', huh.
[It is like Aerith to give someone grace like that, he thinks, and he looks at her curiously for a moment or two.]
That's what you're gonna call it?

Nanaki didn't move as Aerith entered the kitchen space. This was a safe place in his mind and his senses weren't on full alert while he slept here. At the sound of the tub being softly popped open the feline's ears twitched as if he heard the noise but he still didn't stir just yet.
The cookies were simple: basic run-of-the-mill chocolate chip cookies. They were the easiest to make. They also smelled really pleasant to Nanaki's sensitive nose. They were especially uneven and clumpy in places, but they did appear to be cooked completely through with some of the thinner edges maybe even a little burnt. He didn't want to make her sick!
So they weren't very pretty, but probably edible? Mostly edible. He tried.

"I can definitely help dig out weeds." He said as he pawed briefly at the earth. That would be an easy task and he could do it every time he came in for a visit. A little bit of an area each day or so. That would help cut them back so Aerith's garden would stay beautiful.
"And I can help with the other stuff, too. I can carry a lot of heavy stuff if I get it just right so feel free to ask me to move things around for you to plant it where you need it. I don't mind helping in the water either."

His ears twitched again at the crunching sound of cookie munching. Eventually he moved into a long strrrreetch as he slowly woke up from his nap. He let a big yawn split his face before he blinked up and realized Aerith had returned.
"Oh. That was quiet." He meant her entrance. He hadn't woken up when she came in. How embarrassing. He slowly moved into a sitting position. "Hello. Welcome back. I wanted to apologize for the past week and how I acted through much of it. I made those for you. Are they...okay?"
He hoped they weren't going to make anyone sick at least. He really just wanted to apologize for the whole way he'd acted while he was a hellhound after touching that random shoe, but it wouldn't do if he instead just made things worse for Aerith.

"Good. I hope you can enjoy them." He nodded. "It's my first time making cookies anywhere."
He had never tried to bake or cook before. But how hard could it be? ...It was kind of hard. He was just lucky these cookies were relatively simple.

[A nod. She doesn't need to say any more than that. Even without the full context of it he can grasp the kind of pressure she might be under based on what she's told him before.
He reaches over to briefly squeeze her arm.]
Better to be like that, yeah? [Then a sigh, slow and heavy as he turns his eyes up to the ceiling.]
Me and Abel, we... we don't have anything like that, but... there's history there that makes it hard to just be two people together, sometimes.

He laughed, too. She was probably right. He could dig way better with his paws than with her hands! "Who's Iris?"
He didn't really understand the whole 'werewolf' thing yet. He'd heard about them but didn't know any of the specifics yet.
"Is Wu Xin Wutian?" He didn't know there was anyone else from there world here, that was interesting. Of course, he also didn't realize that wasn't actually the case. "Does he actually help out with the watering or is suppose to and you usually end up doing it?" Because that's not nice of him if so.
"Yeah! Zack and Cloud should help out with the heavy lifting. That's what they're good for." He was definitely teasing about it. He could, too, but not as well as them. "We can chat while we direct them with the heavy stuff." Yep, definitely joking.
