It's possible. Using magic, maybe, instead of technology. The first world we stopped at after I was brought to the Barge, there were people who had stunning spells, and enchanting items to deliver them quickly is a logical next step.

For contemporary designs. There are older versions that are heavier than the ones I use, but the technology has come a long way over the years.

They'd need slots, and the materia for it, and then...they could do spells, with whoever wears it.
Tifa wears gloves like that. No stunning spells though, that I know about.
