I believe I have a solution to your river reed problem.

What is it?

Maintenance can construct a series of reed raft beds. These consist of wire-net mesh, constructed in modular rectangles so that water can pass through safely without the reeds choking off the rest of the ponds.

Where did you find out about them? If it'd in one of the books- I must have missed it.

It was not. I discovered it in one of the digital archives here, under a piece a scientist wrote about re-introducing reeds but protecting them from wildlife.

Oh- I should have looked there. I have looked at restoration, but this is better.

I bet we could use this for other water plant growth too...

Yes. I found it was better to work with a reluctant yes than none at all.

Sometimes when asking someone for a favor, it helps to establish a rapport first.

As I said- I'll talk to him. Did you have any ideas on where you think the reed pond should be situated? Or any water plants that you think would be beneficial?

I am not 'excited.' I am interested in accomplishing worthwhile and valuable tasks that would improve everyone's lives, and I was under the mistaken belief that others here were similarly interested.

I have yet to investigate the greenhouse on my own.

I think we're misunderstanding one another here. My fault. By excited, I mean you're eager for this project and the implications of raising our standard of living.

Some people may not see it the same way because...well, they don't see this as a long term journey. Or that contributing means that by agreeing they deserve to be here.

Pride is a prickly thing.

Then they are sorely mistaken.

[Thrawn too is proud, but he allows Aerith to calm him down from his cold demeanor. He's been disappointed too many times by the people who profess to want to work, to provide, to help, only to discover their declarations are less genuine than he'd hoped.

It would help if he stopped coming at these things like a military officer but we can't have everything]

It will save me from one fall. The material is brittle; high-impact damage absorption but at a cost.
